Week 4 Forecast

Looking forward, week 4 looks like an action-packed event. Our lab this week is pretty photocentric. We'll be building websites with lots of images and slideshows. I'm hoping it's as easy as it is fun. The course project looks promising. While last week involved erecting our website and building up its framework, this week we decorate it like a Christmas tree. That's very festive and enjoyable in real life so again, I'm hoping it's fun and not incredibly annoying to do here. Best of luck to everyone!

  1. Hi Allen,
Enjoyed reading your post, like the analogy to decorating a Christmas tree. The lab was fun, but more complex as we couldn’t use JavaScript. The challenging part was calculating the keyframe points for the animation. To help I used the online tool at http://cssanimate.com/.

  2. Allen, I like the way you described this weeks activities as "festive", I haven't thought of it like that. The ease of the Lab really depends on the level of code you used. Most of the code I found used Keyframe as Berkley mentioned, but it becomes more complicated if you use pause/play controls or a slide bar. I choose a simple example to I could focus on the mechanics of the code.

  3. Hi Allen, best of luck to you as well! You choosing festive to describe adding photos to the website is interesting. It is fun to get to enjoy content on your website and you know that you're the one responsible for it being there. I enjoyed making the slideshow and will try to incorporate some of its elements into my site. It helps to think of web design in steps. Its a way to keep the content from becoming so overwhelming at times.
